John McCain in 2008

So, I wanted to read exactly what McCain's platform is for 2008. Honestly, I'm pretty surprised. Here are some direct quotes from www.johnmccain.com:

"John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned ... Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states."

"The family represents the foundation of Western Civilization and civil society and John McCain believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman."

He calls Hugo Chavez an "authoritarian." He thinks that the first and most important step in immigration reform is "securing our borders." Essentially, he believes in a very large fence. We must "recognize the importance of assimilation of our immigrant population, which includes learning English, American history and civics, and respecting the values of a democratic society."

Then again, this is a very typical right-wing platform.

Y'all, I'm a skeptic 4 life, which means I'm not going to be handing out Obama fliers anytime soon. However, I was very impressed that his website includes a .PDF file entitled "Blueprint for Change." Cuz, shit, I've wondered exactly what "change" he's talking about. I mean, I don't exactly want to change to another GW.

The document includes plans for the following:
  • a website that details lobbyist involvement in policy making

  • 21st century fireside chats

  • universal health insurance with guaranteed eligibility

  • expanded protection for victims of hate crimes

  • increased border protection - like McCain

This is my synopsis after 5-minutes of reading. The document is 59 pages long. My question is, where is McCain's 59-page document?
